Connect with the Outdoors

Frederick Law Olmsted worked to realize his vision of sculpting nature to restore its balance with modern life. A central theme of his landscape designs was the incorporation of interconnected parklands that preserved a large measure of natural open space. Massachusetts’ “Emerald Necklace” connecting Boston Common to Brookline’s Franklin Park is perhaps Olmsted’s most famous, though other major examples are found in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Buffalo, New York.

Having studied Olmstedian design extensively, LaQuatra Bonci Landscape Architects wove these same timeless principles into the design of The Ramble. Its parks, gardens, forests and commons forms their own interpretation of Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace connected by trails and roads. It’s this love of landscape that enlivens The Ramble.

Each space offers a different experience and is prized for its diversity. Longmeadow Park is a gracious common and home to the Summer Concert Series and is an idyllic setting for weddings. Crescent Park offers quiet contemplation while Overlook Park’s stream relaxes the senses with the sound of trickling water. No home in The Ramble is more than a few minutes walk from a park or trail.
