Stormwater Management
Protecting The Ramble’s natural waterways is of paramount concern. Reinforced silt fencing is required of all construction sites and monitored weekly by the community association. Temporary sediment basins are often converted to permanent stormwater “Best Management Practice” (BMP) measures.
In many instances, such practices double as community amenities. Examples include Longmeadow Park’s ornate rain garden and Crescent Park Pond’s bio-retention functionality. Similarly, The Ramble employs curbless roads that utilize grassed roadside swales to filter runoff back into the ground.
Residents are encouraged to harvest rainwater for their own irrigation purposes; optional collection cisterns are included in The Ramble’s design guidelines.
