The Ramble Begins Work on Wetlands Restoration

This month, residents of Asheville gated community The Ramble Biltmore Forest may be noticing a few changes happening along the trail system. Dingle Creek, which runs peacefully by Croton Court, will be enjoying some enhancements as construction crews gear up to create a one-acre riparian wetland.

With funds from the American recovery and Reinvestment Act and with a grant from the Clean Water Management Trust Fund, the City of Asheville and The Ramble are enjoying a unique opportunity to continue their preservation efforts. The enhancement of the section of Dingle Creek will repair eroded creek banks to reduce sedimentation, help prevent flood damage, and improve the quality of the water that flows into the French Broad River. The restored wetland will also preserve wildlife and provide a protected habitat, which residents of The Ramble can observe from the nearby walking path.

The Ramble is looking forward to the completion of the latest addition to its sustainable design. With sustainability being one of its guiding principles in development, The Ramble already has many eco-friendly features in place including dark skies, rainwater cisterns and rain gardens, geothermal systems, and more. In addition, Biltmore Farms Homes is committed to building only HealthyBuilt-certified homes, which improve quality of life and insure environmental protection for years to come.
