The Ramble's Living Well Center is Honored by the AIA
With incredible residents, masterfully constructed homes, and beautifully landscaped parks and trails, The Ramble Biltmore Forest presents an unprecedented perspective on community living in Asheville, and the Living Well Center is one of its grandest highlights. The American Institute of Architects recently announced that it wholeheartedly agreed by recognizing the building with an Honor Citation. In selected observations about the Living Well Center, the AIA exclaimed that "The project does everything one would want it to do. It is surprisingly elegant for the rustic setting, and the trellis is exquisite."
They captured the goals of the Living Well Center perfectly in their observations, and residents would surely agree as it has already become a popular gathering place and location for events, special classes, and recreational programs. The expansive windows and state-of-the-art materials bring the outdoors in, allowing for a unique infusion of nature's beauty into the modern design. The entire building is geared towards balance, and the many definitions of that word increase the appeal. The balance between preservation of nature and architecture creates a unique environment, and the yoga studio, exercise room, saline pool, living room, kitchen, and more help keep residents balanced and facilitates those seeking a life full of enriching activities.
The Living Well Center, designed by renowned Ike Kligerman Barkley Architects, reflects the entirety of The Ramble community well. Wellness, sustainability, quality of life, nature preservation, and craftsmanship are priorities of both the building and The Ramble.
